TECS 485 - Building Construction

This course is designed to provide opportunities for the student to develop skills and techniques necessary in selection, placement, and fabrication of materials used in light construction. Principles of good construction as well as regulatory agencies will be discussed. Students will be introduced to the many facets of the trade as related to building construction. Construction knowledge needed by the contractor/homeowner and the skills of the carpentry trade will be entwined in the teaching of carpentry as a technology studies subject.
