MUS 291 - Rock Music Styles
This course investigates the multiple roots and styles of rock music. From its early origins in Tin Pan Alley (American music theater), the African-America tradition (minstrel shows, blues, jazz, swing), country music and the Anglo-American tradition (folk, country, western, and bluegrass), to its current diverse and global mixture of styles today, a variety of styles and influences will be studied.
