MLNG 831 - Structure of English for Second Language Purposes

This course explores the complexities of spelling and word formation,grammatical structure, and semantic relations in Modern English. Students cover the historical origins of these complexities in structure. And various approaches to grammatical analysis are covered, but the emphasis is on developing the practical foundations necessary for effective teaching for second language acquisition, rather than on theoretical models.
